Discussion:
Apple says App Store developers have earned $60 billion in 2021

The other problem is that the two platforms do UI stuff quite differently.
that's one of many problems.
Unless things have changed since we last discussed developer profits in
depth, for iOS, games make the most money (which makes sense given that iOS
is essentially a gaming platform of sorts given it is crippled otherwise).

For Android, games also make money but utilities also abound (where iOS
lacks basic utilities like you can't believe).

The reason iOS is crippled in utilities isn't due to the hardware though.
As an iPhone is essentially similar hardware as any similar Android phone.

The reason iOS is crippled is Apple prevents the market from supplying those
functional utilities (such as graphical wifi and cellular signal debuggers).

Google can't.

many ios frameworks and apis do not exist on android, or at best, there
are very poor implementations.
It's interesting that the apologists are always making excuses for why iOS
is so crippled that they can't name even a _single_ functionality on iOS not
_already_ (long ago) on Android (all by its itty bitty self).

Not even one.

Meanwhile, it's trivial to name functionality on Android that is also on all
other platforms _except_ on the crippled iOS (e.g., system wide firewalls).

The reality is that there are app development platforms that can
generate both Android and iOS apps simultaneously so there's no real
reason to not release an app on both platforms if possible.
There is if the app developed for iOS is better.
Often that is not possible.
Such bullshit. Very few Android apps reach the level of the most average
of iPhone apps. The development environment is much better on iOS, the
frameworks are better, the "free" features from those frameworks are
better,
Where are those _free_ development environments Lewis (lies) about existing?
There are limits imposed by Apple that limit the functionality of some
apps.
Very few limitations, and they are in things that do not matter at all to
the vast majority of users.
I guess privacy "does not matter at all to the vast majority of iOS users."

Q: *Can I run Tor Browser on an iOS device?*
A: <https://support.torproject.org/tormobile/tormobile-3/>
"Apple requires browsers on iOS to use something called Webkit,
which prevents [any browser] from having the same privacy protections
as Tor Browser."

how to say 'i am stupid' without actually saying those words.

you don't understand what 'free features from those frameworks' even
means.

this is the significant part:
As we recently detailed in a 25,000-word article, Google's
messaging history is one of constant product startups and shutdowns.
Thanks to a lack of product focus or any kind of top-down mandate
from Google's CEO, no division is really "in charge" of messaging. As
a consequence, the company has released 13 half-hearted messaging
products since iMessage launched in 2011. If Google wants to look to
someone to blame forĀ iMessage's dominance, it should start with
itself, since it has continually sabotaged and abandoned its own
plans to make an iMessage competitor.

google released *thirteen* messaging apps, all of which failed in the
marketplace.

not just one or two, but thirteen. that takes a special level of
incompetence.

the question to ask is why can't google write an imessage competitor.

And the Troll Doe stated the following in message-id
The reason Bozo cannot figure out how to get Google to keep from
breaking its lines in inappropriate places is because Bozo is
CLUELESS...
And yet, the clueless Troll Doe has continued to post incorrectly

What I know is that the Android development environment is free.
And it works on Linux and Windows and even your vaunted Mac, nospam.

The iOS development environment isn't and doesn't.

What I know is that the Android development environment is free.
so are the apple development environments (plural).

that also has nothing to do with 'free features from those frameworks',
yet another concept you do not understand.

you continue to dig yourself a deeper hole with every post.
